Children's Death Rate
Do we need vaccines to reduce the death rate of children? But first, do you even know what the death rate is?
* * *
Adakah kita perlukan vaksin untuk turunkan kadar kematian kanak2? Tahukah anda apa kadar kematian kanak2 terlebih dahulu?
There are 9.2 million children in our country. (Children means aged 0-17.) Of these:
3.1 million are adolescents (aged 12-17), and
6.1 million are younger children (aged 0-11).
Children make up 28% of the population, but they make up only 89 deaths out of 26,060 deaths for this period, which is 0.34%. That's 1/3 of 1%. That is wayyy less than their market share. And we need to jab 9.2 million children to reduce 0.34% of deaths? Reduce to what, 0.3%?
(Note: On these charts, I wrote "Foetuses excluded". This was because their age was -1. I have since learned that this means the age is missing, not because they are foetuses, but I'm too lazy to change the charts.)
(Deaths of vaccinated children will be covered in another graph later.) |
Terdapat 9.2 juta orang kanak-kanak di negara kita. (Kanak-kanak bermaksud umur 0-17 tahun.)
3.1 juta adalah remaja (12-17 tahun), dan
6.1 juta adalah kanak-kanak (0-11 tahun).
82% of children who passed away have another disease. The rate remains the same before and after the start of vaccination. (After the start of vaccination, the % of Delta cases rose sharply.)
Take care of your children's health. Having another disease contributes the greatest risk of death. The greatest co-morbidity for children is asthma.
How many % of patients died? The percentage is extremely low--only 0.017% to 0.04%. To make that easier to read, we'll move the decimal and make it per 100,000 (instead of per 100). So we see here that although the number of deaths increased 5-10x, the rate of death this year is even lower than last year.
Is that rate high or low? Let's compare it with other age groups. It is extremely low. It is just a blip. Remember that this is a rate, so it is a % of each group who died. It is not affected by what happens in other groups, or by the number of cases as this is a percentage). So children really do have extremely low rates of death compared to adults and seniors.
Here is a chart showing the same thing. This a percentage of people who died in each age group. As expected, older people have difficulty fighting this disease. After vaccination started, the death rate for seniors increased by 75%. The death rate of adults increased the most, more than 5-fold! However, the rate of death for children actually decreased. Children have natural immunity and are able to beat this virus easily, even Delta.

In deciding whether to vaccinate, you must weigh the risk of death from the disease vs. the risk of death from the vaxine. Unfortunately, the data for Malaysia is not available, so look at data from other countries before you make your decision.
